Know The Signs Of Alcoholism

Knowing the different signs of alcoholism is so important, so that you can recognize them and begin helping yourself or someone that you love that may be struggling with alcohol dependency. It is crucial that you recognize the signs before it gets too out of control so that less damage is done to you, mentally and physically. Relationships can be ruined because of the affect that alcohol has on people and many life long health problems, sometimes life threatening, can occur from years of alcohol abuse. Overall, alcohol dependency has the ability to control your life and everything around you could be damaged during that time, in some way.

There are many signs of alcoholism, some of them include, drinking alone, secretly drinking, lying to family members about your drinking, having physical trembles when you wake up in the mornings, not caring about your appearance anymore, unhealthy eating habits, violent behavior, needing to drink in order to function day to day and extreme mood swings. These are some of the signs of alcoholism that need to be noticed so that the healing and recovery can begin. If you have any of these signs you do not need to waste another day, you should begin now, trying to figure out what to do so that you can receive the help that is necessary for you to live a long, healthy, happier life and these changes will benefit you, your family and your friendships.

Some people have episodes of blacking out, not knowing what they even did the night before when they were so intoxicated. Not only is that scary, it could cause you to hurt someone else or hurt yourself, by getting in a car and deciding that you are not too drunk to drive. Unfortunately things like that happen way too often, alcohol affects your thinking ability and causes you to sometimes make some very terrible decisions. By knowing these signs, you can begin trying to either slack off from drinking or just get yourself into a rehabilitation program so that you can stop drinking all together. Nothing bad will happen from getting help, only positive things. That is what they are there for, to help anyone in need. Just deciding that you are tired of hurting yourself and hurting the ones that love you is enough to guide you in the right direction.

Either begin going to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), or check yourself into a rehabilitation program. Alcoholism can destroy your life, you have got to accept that you are an alcoholic and then begin the journey towards recovery, so that you, your family and your friends can get a fresh start, with improving your relationships and being a healthier person. They can be your support system if you allow them to be, alcohol does not have to control your life any longer, you have to do something about it, while you still have the opportunity to.
